ThreadWare

User Guides

Short, plain-English guides to every part of ThreadWare. Pick the one you need. You do not have to read them in order, and you do not need to know anything about programming or manufacturing to follow them.

You only see what you have been given access to

ThreadWare is built from modules - Sales, Production, Quality and so on. An administrator gives you a role in each module, for each company you work in. The menu is built from those roles. So if something in these guides is not in your menu, it has not been given to you yet. Ask your administrator, or log a support ticket. To see what you currently hold, click your initials in the top right and choose My Access & Roles.

These guides describe everything ThreadWare can do, so most people will find that parts of them do not apply to their login. That is normal.

Getting started Signing in, finding your way around, why a menu might be missing, and changing your own settings. AI Assistant The chat robot in the corner of every screen. What it can answer, what it cannot, and why that depends on your access.

The things people ask about most

Document Management Uploading company documents so people and the AI Assistant can find them. Categories, access levels, revisions and statuses. Instrument Tag setup Creating and editing the tags that hold readings from machines and sensors. Every tab and every field explained. Instrument charts Viewing readings as charts, checking which sensors are alive, and the live tile dashboards. Tag Analytics The machine-learning module. Building a model, reading the results honestly, forecasts and fault risk.

Every module

Sales Sales orders, back orders, order history, quotes and customers. Production Production orders, job cards, scoresheets, analytics and planning. Op Specs How each product is made: import, sign off and print op specs, lab results, certificates for customers, and machines running off the spec. Stock On hand per warehouse, planned receipts and issues, what will run out, and the stock ledger. Business KPIs Your targets, capturing progress, approvals and KPI analytics. Instrument Graphs Machine and sensor readings, tag status and the solar dashboard. Tag Analytics Predicting what a measurement will do next, and which faults may be coming. Risk / Incident Management Reporting a risk, incident or problem, and managing the ones assigned to you. Governance Company-level risks that the board and executives track. Time and Attendance Clocking records, exceptions, lost time and the emergency muster list. Performance Management Performance reviews for yourself and your team, review periods and templates. Quality (QMS) Controlled documents, change proposals, training acknowledgements and forms. Recruitment The job applications inbox. A separate, strictly limited permission. Support Desk Logging a ticket when something goes wrong, and working the queue if you are an agent. Visitor Cards Booking visitors and sending their pass, checking them in and out at the gate, host sign-off, and the visitors-on-site muster. Administration Users, companies, sites, roles, configuration and audit logs. Mostly for administrators.

Two words you will see everywhere

WordWhat it means in ThreadWare
Module A whole area of the app, like Sales or Quality. There are fourteen. Your company is switched on for some of them; you are then given roles inside those.
Role What you are allowed to do inside a module. Usually one of Viewer (look), Editor (change) or Admin (set up). Some modules have extra ones with their own names.
Company ThreadWare can hold several companies. You get roles per company. If you work in more than one, the menu shows the company name under the module.
Site A factory, office or depot belonging to a company. Sensor readings and many reports are filtered to the sites you are assigned to.
Tag One measurement from a machine or sensor - for example one temperature probe. Tags are the building blocks of the charts and of Tag Analytics.
